The following is a cost example of costs involved in building a full log home
like the Double Eagle Deluxe. Every building lot is unique, that's why it’s so hard to
price out a home without hours of estimating. The estimate also varies
depending on how much labor you want to do yourself.
How do we top the Double Eagle, a Log Home Design Ideas 2003 showcase
home? Well, with all the ideas we came up with while building the Double
Eagle, talking to the tens of thousands of people who toured the Double
Eagle during the open house, local parade of homes and those who read the
magazine articles, we learned a lot. The Double Eagle is awesome just like
it is, but by adding 265 more sq. ft., we made the Great Room four feet
wider and the master bedroom suite four feet wider as well. Thus, the Double
Eagle Deluxe was created.
It may be the coolest log home ever. People can't stop grinning and they get
very excited when they tour it. Outside, the street side has a covered
porch and the garage is angled. The backside has a huge gabled covered
porch with a 24' wall of glass. The two gable dormers on each side also
make the house look great. Inside, you enter into a room with a 21' high
cathedral ceiling. Look straight through and you see the 24' wall of glass. To
your right is a stairway going up to the loft and down to the basement. To
your left is a stone fireplace with a built-in entertainment center. The
master bedroom suite with master bath and a walk-in closet are huge. When you
enter the angled kitchen, you will see a perfect layout. We have also
re-designed the entryway/laundry room from the standard Double Eagle. The
second floor has a nice sized loft, great for a reading area or a computer
area. The two bedrooms each have a dormer, large closet, and cathedral
ceilings; very cool. The upstairs bath is built into one of the dormers and
is a nice sized room. Go ahead, live your dream. You deserve it and we can
help.
You will also need to add for well, septic, land, stain labor, landscaping,
appliances and financing costs. Only you will know these costs for your
specific area. Shipping and freight costs are added depending on location.
We are not saying your home will cost exactly this much, but since we are
involved in so many homes each year, we have a very good idea on what it
may cost to build this home.
Typically customers who buy a larger, more upscale home, like this
model, add in many options and features. In that event, figure
in an additional $ 25,000 to $ 75,000.
